2021-2023 CIPP SEWER REHABILITATION PROJECTS

MT OLYMPUS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT

 RECEIPT AND OPENING OF BIDS:  Sealed bids will be received at the office of Mt. Olympus Improvement District, 3932 S. 500 E., Salt Lake City, Utah 84107 until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 for the MT. OLYMPUS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT – 2021-2023 CIPP SEWER REHABILITATION PROJECTS. At which time, bids will be opened publicly.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work consists of video inspection, cleaning, and CIPP rehabilitation of approximately 9,996 l.f. of 8″ sewer main, 1,753 l.f. of 10″ sewer main, 3,186 l.f. of 12″ sewer main, and 781 l.f. of 18″ sewer main, reinstating approximately 245 services, any necessary bypass pumping, and traffic control. The District intends to have an annual renewable contract through 2023. Work done in 2022 and 2023 will be of a similar size and scope.

LOCATION OF THE WORK:  All work is located within the District’s service area which is Holladay City, Millcreek City, Murray City, and southern portions of South Salt Lake City.

COMPLETION OF THE WORK: All work covered by the contract documents must be completed by October 31, 2021. Work in 2022 and 2023 can start on January 1 each year but must be completed by October 31, 2022 and October 31, 2023 respectively.

OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS:  Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications, may be obtained by contacting the District’s Engineer, Dean Ayala, at [email protected]. The contract documents will be sent electronically. There is not a fee for the Contract Documents. Plans will be available December 28, 2020.

BID SECURITY:  Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price payable to Mt. Olympus Improvement District as a guarantee that the bidder, if his bid is accepted, will promptly execute the Contract, secure payment of worker’s compensation insurance and furnish a satisfactory, faithful performance bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and a payment bond in the amount of one hundred (100%) of the contract price.

AWARD OF WORK: Any contractor who has not worked in the District within the last 5 years may be required to submit additional documentation. The documentation shall include experience and references for at least 3 projects of similar scope and size completed within the last 5 years. The work will be awarded based on experience, prior workmanship on District projects, references, availability and cost.

WAITING PERIOD BEFORE AWARD:  A waiting period of 30 calendar days from the date of opening of bids to award of contract may be required.  Bidder’s shall assume full responsibility for and shall guarantee the bid price during this period and make certain the time period is stated in and does not restrict the proposal guarantee.

PROJECT ADMINISTRATION:  All questions relative to this project prior to the opening of bids shall be directed to the Project Engineer.  It shall be understood, however, that no specification interpretations will be made by telephone, nor will any “or equal” products be considered for approval prior to award of contract.

OWNER’S RIGHTS RESERVED:  The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive an informality in a bid, and to make awards in the interest of the Owner.
